Key-Learnings

  • Harness the power of EFT (Episodic future thinking) to prepare for change
  • Risks will always be a part of testing, the types might change
  • Everyone can contribute to make sure that it turns into an “utopia” rather than a “dystopia” while some things are out of our control

Close your eyes for a moment, imagine you wake up in the year 2040. AI has become part of our everyday lives, both as humans and as testers.

What do you see around you?
What does your job look like?

What is completely different?
What is exactly the same?
Many questions pop to your head. You are a tester, after all. So let’s search for answers together.

With a technique called episodic future thinking (EFT) we explore the future of testing.
In this interactive workshop we are going to live through several scenarios.

Episodic Future Thinking (EFT) is your brain's ability to mentally project yourself into the future, vividly imagining personal events, scenarios, and experiences that haven't happened yet.

We start in a scenario where the world has changed like mentioned in the introduction.
We revisit this scenario and introduce a disruption in the future. So a change within a change.

We strongly believe that the decisions we will make today, shape how our future of testing looks like. And we want us and you to be prepared to take the right ones.

Lastly we take our lessons learned and apply them to the present. This way we add skills to our toolkit to prepare for a world that will change dramatically. What will we do differently tomorrow having experienced what is ahead?
