Key-Learning

  • Difference between Mentoring/Coaching for a new leader
  • Being open to feedback
  • How to inspire as a result of being coached

When I started in a leadership role, I was advised to look into finding mentors who I can work with to help chalk out a good direction for my professional growth. At the time, I did not understand the difference between mentoring and coaching.

Conversations with a few noted mentors revealed that some of the tools needed already existed but I did not know how to use them. In this talk, I will discuss my journey through personal and professional coaching.

Both aspects of coaching help in understanding your potential and discovering what’s the best way to exercise that potential. Coaching has proved to be highly useful especially in the world of leading technical testers and engineers. I will also mention some techniques on combating stress and balancing demand for delivery in this high-paced environment.
