Carl loves practicing and teaching the art of building better-than-expected software. He believes it comes out of teams running thoughtful processes, being clever, and being great humans. His ideas are built on 20 years of experience as everything: tester, developer, team lead, instructor, and head of engineering. He has mentored dozens of people of all ages in effective tools for thinking and how to behave as great "builders" regardless of their role. He has given talks on AI, building software with empathy, and breakthrough innovation for software teams.
