An Introduction to Automation in Testing

More often than not, most testers associate the word automation with test automation. This is a highly limiting view of the possibilities of using automation as a tester.

Automation is about using technology to execute an activity in testing with no human intervention. Such execution, typically, only partially solves the problem just like humans solve problems partially. Is that good or bad? That's the question!

There are many activities in testing where automation can help. This talk focuses on this aspect of automation, introducing the concept of Partial Automation along-side.The talk is the first talk that initiates the Automation Deep Dive Event at ATD this year.
