Key-Learnings

  • Why CICD?
  • When to apply CICD?
  • What prerequisites do you need to have in place to start with CICD?
  • What are good first steps to take when you want to start with CICD?
  • Common pitfalls in implementing CICD.

Continuous Integration (CI) is a well-established industry standard. Continuous Delivery (CD) is at least a widely shared goal. But do we truly understand the core of these abstract terms? Are we conscious about the problems they are supposed to solve? Are we using the tools to achieve these concepts in our best interest or do we let them dictate our way of working? Are we aware of our own goals behind adopting CI/CD?

To kickstart the CICD track, Michael Kutz and Bart Knaack will give an introduction to CICD. This session is introductory and mostly suitable for people that want to refresh their CICD knowledge or are new to the CICD concept and want to know how they can benefit from using CICD in their day to day work.

Topics covered will include:

  • Why CICD?
  • When to apply CICD?
  • What prerequisites do you need to have in place to start with CICD?
  • What are good first steps to take when you want to start with CICD?
  • Common pitfalls in implementing CICD.

At the end of the presentation you should have a fair understanding of the what/why and how of CICD and are prepared to go into the CICD track and get your mind blown.
