Feature-files as self-updating documentation is a very smart idea. In theory.
In practice, if you only give the end-users a feature-file, they might still have certain difficulties understanding how to use this specific feature.
How about illustrating feature scenarios with screenshots?
In our company, we taught Cucumber and Behat to take screenshots for each step and highlight the relevant UI elements.
This has visually enhanced our documentation and made it much better understandable by the end-user.
