Just imagine if even a walk round the block could leave you feeling more inspired? People all over the world follow the ideas of Street Wisdom by David Pearl, come join the movement ;)
You're standing in the shower, driving to work, going for a walk, and then, suddenly, you have the most brilliant idea, the answer to a problem you have been trying to solve for ages at your desk - sounds familiar? That lightning of genius strikes when you’re doing something completely different...
Friedrich Nietzsche said “All the truly great thoughts come to you as you walk." and a way to get those truly great thoughts is by using Street Wisdom.
Street Wisdom is a creative walking practice that helps you find your way through life’s twists and turns, a guided walking workshop that will turn ordinary streets into extraordinary experiences where you can work out what matters to you and take active steps forward.
How will we do it?
We meet in the lobby, I’ll give you a brief introduction to Street Wisdom. We divide up in small groups, introduce yourself, and answer these questions;
- “Which is your favourite street and why?”
- “Where do you have your best breakthroughs / where do you get your most brilliant ideas and why?”
Then we go off on a walk through the streets of Potsdam, where we start by tuning your senses, then go through some mental exercises, and finally try to get these techniques to solve a problem for you. Back at the Dorint we share what happened during the walk.
And as Søren Kierkegaard said; ”For all what matters, do not lose the desire to go for a walk. I go for a walk every day for my health and have thought up some of my best ideas during these walks.”
