Being successful in agile projects “Continuous Improvement” is essential and therefore the retrospective is useful practice.

Unfortunately, our retrospectives were not always performed as well as possible. We often had the same points listed on the Retro-Board without trying to find a solution for them, this led to unmotivated team-members. Instead of meaningful debates people only sought for a culprit and the retrospectives weren’t sufficiently prepared and hardly moderated. The found actions were often not implemented, which means, that the huge room for improvement was not used.

We wanted to change this unpleasant situation and made various attempts in different teams to improve the retrospectives. In the presentation we want to share our experiences we had with the different ways of doing a retrospective with you e.g. preparation of the retrospective and diverse techniques of collecting data.

Join our session if you think that your retrospectives aren’t as good as you want them to be and there is a lot of unused potential for you as well. And if you're happy with your current retrospectives, you may still find use in some of our suggestions to make them more varied and entertaining.
