Should I quit?

The Never Ending Story. Professional Software Testers leave companies. Frustrated. New Software Testers are not coming. Afraid.

Junior Tester: ‘Testing seems to me like a monotonous job. There is no good reason why I should start my career here. No possibilities to grow. ’ Senior Tester: ‘I’m getting no respect, no appreciation. I always have to deal with the developers’ ego or their business chaos. It’s exhausting. ’ Test Manager: ‘I always struggle with building a strong team. Skilled members leave and there are no experts on the market. I should change my business.’

This all leads to the million dollar question: ‘How to arouse the Software Testers motivation to love his job? How to stimulate this motivation over the years?

I was systematic. Persistent. I’ve discussed this issue with Software Testers in various testing roles from all over the world. I’ve discussed it with you. My presentation is based on your answers, questions and remote brainstorming sessions. As the tester grows, his motivation focus changes, so does my presentation. I’ve tried to cover the motivational process from the beginning to the end (but if you love your job, there is no end, am I right?). Let’s boost energy in a team, so it will lead to a more proactive work approach, logically.

My presentation includes following points:
• Candidates on an interview
• Tester is hired
• New Tester working on a project
• Experienced Tester working on a project
• But…everything starts with Leaders. • Bonus: How to deal with ‘the Wind-Up Tester’

Audience interaction, based on short exercises, and illustrative examples are the key elements of my presentation. After leaving my workshop you will see happy faces of Test Experts regardless of their background and the challenges they have to face. The participants will be motivated and they will know how to motivate others.

No, you shouldn’t quit. Because you love it as I do.
