A Match Made in Heaven
Use Docker containers and Jenkins Pipelines to setup a Continuous Delivery workflow
Jenkins is the leading Continous Integration and Continous Delivery platform, and with thousands of plugins can be used to do almost anything. Docker has revolutionized the way people think about applications and deployments. It provides a simple way to run and distribute Linux containers for a variety of use cases, from lightweight virtual machines to complex distributed micro-services architectures. Containers allow to run services in isolation with a minimum performance penalty, increased speed, easier configuration and less complexity, making it ideal for Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery based workloads.
This workshop will teach you how to use Jenkins to orchestrate a build, test and deploy pipeline using containers, for easier setup, configuration and reusing the thousands of Docker images available in the Docker Hub. Also including creation of Docker images as a deliverable.
